Privacy Notice

Effective date: 29 July 2026

This Privacy Notice explains how The Portugal Diaries, operated by Brightman Group, handles personal data collected through the webinar landing page at theportugaldiaries.com. For privacy questions or requests, contact marketing.team@brightmangroup.com.

What we collect

  • Your name and email address.
  • Your optional answer about the webinar topics that interest you.
  • Your required acknowledgement of the webinar registration notice.
  • If you choose it, your separate marketing-consent request and confirmation.
  • Limited technical and compliance records, including timestamps, the page used to register, provider results, and pseudonymous request and email hashes used for rate limiting, duplicate prevention, and consent records.

Why we use your data

Webinar registration and essential messages: We use your name and email to provide the webinar registration you request and to send essential confirmation, access, reminder, and webinar follow-up messages. The required acknowledgement is not consent to unrelated marketing.

Optional email marketing: If you tick the separate optional box, Mailjet sends a confirmation message. You join the marketing list only after clicking that confirmation link. This processing is based on your consent. You may refuse without affecting your webinar registration and may withdraw at any time by using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contacting us.

Security and compliance: We keep limited records to prevent abuse, avoid duplicate registrations, diagnose provider failures, and demonstrate the choices made at signup.

Who receives the data

  • WebinarNinja receives the name and email needed to administer the webinar and its essential communications. See WebinarNinja’s privacy information.
  • Mailjet by Sinch processes the optional confirmation and marketing subscription when you request it. See Sinch’s privacy notice.
  • Our WordPress hosting and technical service providers process limited data necessary to operate and secure the website.

We do not sell your personal data. Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we require appropriate contractual or other lawful transfer safeguards. Provider processing locations and subprocessors may change and are described in their privacy and data-protection materials.

How long we keep data

  • The optional email-confirmation link expires after 48 hours.
  • Pseudonymous WordPress signup and consent receipts are scheduled for deletion after 730 days.
  • Marketing contact details remain in Mailjet until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent, or ask for deletion, subject to minimal suppression records needed to respect an unsubscribe request.
  • Webinar registration information is retained only as long as needed to administer the webinar, provide related follow-up, meet legal obligations, and resolve support or security issues, subject to the provider’s backup and retention procedures.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability, and you may object to certain processing. You may withdraw marketing consent at any time without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal. To exercise a right, contact marketing.team@brightmangroup.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

You may also lodge a complaint with Portugal’s data-protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), or another competent supervisory authority.

Automated decisions and cookies

The webinar signup workflow does not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing. It uses basic rate limiting and duplicate prevention. This signup workflow does not intentionally place advertising cookies; necessary website, security, hosting, or logged-in administrator cookies may still apply.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when the webinar workflow, providers, legal requirements, or retention practices change. The effective date above shows the current version.
